TNPS Recycle Week Facebook Post

Everything that we do has an impact on the environment, including the choices we make for our pets. Their food alone adds over 60 million tones of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere yearly which is the same as over 13 million cars.

This week is Recycle Week, an annual event ran by Recycle Now, which celebrates and encourages the nation to think outside the box when it comes to the items we are able to not only recycle, but reuse in imaginative ways. With this in mind, we’ve pulled together the top brands that can help you make more planet-responsible choices for your pets to reduce their environmental paw print.

Beco Pets

Beco are a very eco-conscious company dedicated to making the highest quality products in the most sustainable ways possible, with everything ethically sourced and traceable too. Their super fun dog toys are made from recycled cotton and natural rubber, their completely compostable poo bags are made from natural plant-based materials and their biodegradable pet bowls and food scoops are made from BPA free bamboo and natural dyes.

Goodchaps

Another company striving to be as eco-friendly as possible is Goodchaps who not only sustainably source all their ingredients, but also ensure all their dog treat packaging is completely compostable, biodegradable and recyclable and are made from plants instead of plastic. Even their stationary range is packaged in a plastic free, corn-starch bag which is fully biodegradable and compostable.

Green & Wilds

Green & Wilds range of eco toys are made from pure jute and split leather. The toys are twin stitched over four layers of jute, filled with cotton jute rope, waste cotton or a recycled plastic bottle. This makes all of their eco toys completely natural, renewable and recyclable. They also have an eco-insect range of treats which are incredibly high-quality protein, but at a fraction of the environmental impact of other protein sources.

At The Natural Pet Store, it’s not just your pets that benefit from our focus on quality. With an emphasis on choosing items that are not massed produced and, where possible, made in Britain, we can help keep your pooches carbon paw print as low as possible.
